The Skinny In ME

“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you always got.” – Mark Twain

Weight loss this week: 2 lbs.
Weight loss since I started: 29 lbs.

This week was a good week for me. I stepped on the scale and I've lost 2 lbs. But the really great part was going to the clothing store and trying on a pair of jeans and they FIT. Just not any size though. A size 8!!! Can you believe it!!!  An 8! I was over the moon. All my hard work has paid off. I have gone down 6 sizes in 5 months. So you see the three D's are right. I try to keep thinking it when I get lost. Discipline, Determination, Dedication.

Discipline - Keep at it. You need to Discipline yourself. Good or Bad
Determination - Keep going! Don't give up. It'll pay off in the end
Dedication - Even if you don't feel like doing it. Get Up You ASS and DO IT!

So my advice to anyone losing weight and getting discourage sometimes when we hit that plateau or when we just plain get tired of doing it. DON'T give up. Because the payoff is so worth it in the end. Though this is not my end yet I can't wait till i get there. 20 more lbs. to go and i will have hit my goal weight. Slow and steady i will get there. I just know it takes time.

So you see in the end there is a skinny in everyone. You just have to have the determination, discpline, and dedication for SKIINNY to get out. In the end she will shine. Keep at it.

What would make you feel sexier?

That question is a tough question to answer. I am hardly a girl girl of any type. I would rather be in comfy jeans or comfy sweat pants than in a dress. So when i do get all dolled up I do feel sexy. When i wear a sexy dress and put some make up on I feel like I'm on top of the world. How do you feel sexy?

Happy Valentines Day

"Never Change who you are for a guy. Because if he truely loved you, you wouldn't have to change. If he was truely your Prince Charming, he would love you for you you are, not who he wants you to be." ~ zebraskittles123

Weightloss this week - 2 lbs.
Weightloss to date - 27 lbs.

Can you believe that Valentine's Day is only a day away? I surely can't. Do you have any plans for Valentine's Day? I don't. My husband works nights and i work days so our schedules don't quite work. We will definately celebrate it this coming weekend with a nice dinner and maybe a movie. (if i can drag him to the theather. He's not a big movie guy.) This year I asked my husband not to get me anything for Valentine's Day. Not because I don't want anything, it's just I really don't need anything. My big WANT this year is to take a nice long vacation in June. That is what we are saving for.We are planning on going to Jamaica with the kids.  All i could really go for if he really did want me to buy me something is a day of peace and quiet and not having to do anything around the house. Pretty simple. I've realized that the simple things in life make me happy. I'd rather you tell me and show me how much I mean to you then you buying me expensive gifts. It just means more when it's coming from the heart.

Happy Valentine's Day!
"If you live to be 100, I hope I live to be 100 minus 1 day, so I never have to live without you.” ~Winnie the Pooh

This week has been a good week for me. I lost my 2 lbs. I needed to be at my 27 lb. weightloss goal. I did it. I added a new workout. It's a dvd called hip hop abs. It's kind of like zumba. I LOVE IT! Even my kids love it. They would watch me and dance with me to this new workout.

We also have another 2 week challenge starting Monday. Can't wait for this one. I loved that last one. Are you joining us? If you're not you definately should. You don't know what your missing.

What is your favorite way to relax?

My favorite way to relax is to have the house completely silent and read a good book on my kindle and curled up on the couch. That would be my favorite.

Good Things Come In Small Packages

Weightloss this week - 0 lbs.
Weight loss total 25 lbs.

Happy Monday Everyone!

You know that famous saying "Good things come in small packages."

Well i believe that they do. If you think about it small packages contain amazing gifts. Just like the Tiffany's box that you see above. I love the box. (OK maybe cause it's blue and it's from Tiffany's) But you do realize that inside it's probably something expensive. Tiffany's is an expensive jewelry store. So you see good things come in small packages. Now with that visual in mind you'll have to think next about weight loss. These past two weeks I have hit a plateau. I wish i could say I've over come it but I haven't. I am stuck at the same spot i was two weeks ago. Not gaining any weight but not losing any either is a little bit of a downer. But i picked myself back up and have a new outlook about it. Just like the box I realized that my weight loss comes in increments. (small increments, but I'll take it.) I have lost a total of 25 lbs. since starting mamavation. I did hit my 27 lbs. weight loss goal but ever since after Christmas I haven't moved. I gained 2 lbs back and haven't moved an inch. Though i am thankful I'm not gaining any either. So i am going to keep my head up high and go with it. Like the quote says "Good things come in small packages".  I will see what happens no matter how small it may be I will take it. How has your week been?

What food do you think  is good for your heart?

When I think of this question the first thing that comes to my mind is Cheerios. I love Cheerios. Especially the multi-grain cheerios. Love it to death. It does help that my kids love it too.  Did you know that Cheerios is Certified by the American Heart Association? It's a good source of fiber. Excellent source of iron. Good source of calcium and it's low fat. Gotta love that part. It's a staple in my household. What do you think is a good food for your heart?

You are the master of every situtation...

"The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person's determination."
- Tommy Lasorda

This week a co-worker of mine read her fortune cookie out loud. It said "You are the master of every situation." She then proceed to say that it was a crock of sh***. Lying fortune cookie. Usually i just laugh about it and not say anything but then i thought about it and that fortune cookie is telling the truth. We are our own master of our situations. If you think about it we chose what path we steer our life into. If we chose to stuff our faces with junk food and not exercise then that's the path to unhealthiness. But if you chose the path to watch what you eat and exercise, then you chose the path to being healthy. So you see i had to tell my co-worker that her fortune cookie was right and that she was wrong. She didn't like that very much but after explaining it she did agree. We are in control of our lives, our destiny.

The two week challenge is just about over and the finalist for the next mamavation mom is going to get chosen tomorrow. Either way of how it plays out I am glad that i did apply to be the next mamavation mom. I don't have any regrets about it at all. I do want to say good luck to all the applicants that are wanting to be the next mamavation mom. It's been great getting to know new people. Also don't forget we are all winners no matter what and look at how far we have come. We can all do this and we are going to all succeed one way or the other.  So even though the two week challenge is over i still will be exercising my butt off. I am choosing the path to be healthy. Like the fortune cookie says. I am the master of every situation.

I also have learned this week that my scale is my friend again. I incorporated more treadmill time in my workouts every day rather that just doing the normal hazing, 2 week challenge, and my ea sports active, I decided that i need to add treadmill time. I am so glad i did. I lost the weight that i gained the past two weeks. Though I'd like to say I'm past the 27 lbs. mark, I'm not. But I'm sure i will eventually. In the meantime i will add more treadmill time and can't wait to see more results.

Who is your biggest inspiration when it comes to healthy lifestyle?

My Biggest inspiration in my life would have to be my 2 children. If it weren't for them i don't know what path i would be on right now. I want to be there for them through all the events in their lives. I want to be around when my daughter walks down that aisle and marrys the man she loves or when my son has his first child. I want to be there every moment of the way. That is my inspiration to changing my life for the better and wanting a healthy lifestyle. I want my children to be able to have a mother and father when they are growing up. Not having my mother around for all of my life was the biggest thing that i miss the most. I miss not having her there when i got married, or when my first child was born, or when i had my first kiss, or went on a first date. I want to be there when my kids go through those. Every moment, every second. That is why i chose a healthy lifestyle. I don't want any regrets for me or my children.

I'm Sexy and I NOW i know it!

Me and my coco bean @Kohl's. I fit a size 9!!!
Date:01/15/2012

Weightloss this week: 0 lbs.
Total weightloss: 27 lbs.

Waking up today was a little rough for me. I stepped on the scale and I got a little discouraged. I gained 2 lbs. since last sunday. Instead of beating myself up (ok i admit i did a little) i walk/run (or tried to for the most part ~run) 1.25 miles. I felt so much better afterwards but it still lingered in my mind that i gained 2 lbs. How is that possible? Could it be just muscle?? I though about it and i vent to my bff (shannon) and she suggested retail therapy to make me feel better. "Try on some clothes" she says. So me and my little coco bean did. We went to kohl's and then we went to discovery. I decided to try on some jeans. I took 2 pairs a size 11 and a size 9. (i was thinking why the hell not. If i don't fit at least i know where i stand.) I tried on the size 11 and they were perfect. lose and perfect. My coco bean said mama try the next one. So i did and boy was i estatic. Wait better yet I was f***ing happy!! I tried it on and they fit. like a glove. I went from a size 14 to a size 9 in about 4 months. Can u belive it?? All the hard work i've done and all the support i have had from mamavation paid off. I can officially say I'm sexy now and I freaking know it. People who don't think so, i really don't care, because I feel it and it feels good! :) I ended up buying 2 pairs of pants. One size 9 jeans from discovery clothing and size 11 work pants. I even decided to buy a shirt that said "SEXY" on it. The little things in life that make everything worth it.

I have tried to walk more steps each day than the last and even though i haven't on some days i do try to at least get my 10k steps in. My most so far. (see pic below)  This week has also been a little rough (but so worth in the end) because we have the 2week challenge going on and also mamavation hazing. I think my biggest challenge will be this coming week. School starts and i will be one busy lady but i know i can do it. I've done it in the past and this won't change it one bit. So 2weekchallenge, mamavation hazing, and school bring it. I am so ready! I just keeping thinking of the outcome and the great feeling that goes along with it.

This week has been an exhausting week but in a good way. When we wrapped up our last 2 week challenge I decided not to slack of till the next one started. The day after it I kept going all through the holidays and even manage to lose a couple of pounds. Last week i posted that i was applying to be a mamavation mom. I have been loving the extra workouts that our drill sergent has been giving us on top of my normal exercises. Yes don't get me wrong i am tired by the end of the day but i feel so much better knowing i can push myself and it is all worth it in the end. :) I can't wait till tomorrow starts for our new two week challenge.

What do you find most challenging in skin care?

I used to hate trying to find the right one for my skin. I finally found one i liked after trying so many. (Oxi clear..Noxzema..) I found that clear and clear is a good skin cleanser for my skin. It leaves my skin soft and tingly like fresh feeling. I also use Jergens lotion on my face and body to keep it smooth.

New Year.. New Me.. No Fear No Regrets...

Weight loss this past weeks: 2 lbs.
Total Weight loss: 25 lbs.

"Don't fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of a life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have."
-- Louis E. Boone

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a blast. 2012 is going to be a great year. This is the year that big changes will be made. I have a new motto. No Fear No Regrets. I'm tired of using the phrase I should of.. or I wish.. I'm done with that I'm going to start doing it and not looking back. I'm not going to have any regrets this year. My first step to making it a great year is that i submitted my application to be a mamavation mom. Campaign 11.. (insert biting fingers). I did it.. i hit send and i can't take it back. I don't want to anyways even if i could, but still nervous about it. I want to make a difference and I want to do something about it that will help me and help others that are just like me. So if i can ask for you to support me please watch my video application and please either tweet out the message below to @bookieboo or post on the mamavation facebook fan page https://www.facebook.com/groups/mamavation/ why i should be the next mamavation mom. Thank you! :)

"Hey @bookieboo! I want @nichols0907 to be the next #Mamavation Mom. She has my support! http://bit.ly/aorv3Y"

Also i have some good news. During the holiday season i even hit my 25lbs. weight loss goal mark. To be extra special i hit it on my birthday. I am super stocked that i did and can't wait for my weight loss to come.

What is your #1 tip for adjusting your workouts to winter conditions?

My #1 tip would have to be just be to keep at it. I have a treadmill downstairs that i use now due to the cold weather outside and i also use my EA Sports Active Wii workout alot lately. Love it. I am so wishing it is summer time already so i can take nice stroll around the park or in my neighborhood. Can't wait for it to get here but in the meantime my living room and basement is the next best thing.
