"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Weight loss total - 43 lbs.
I had a huge wake up call this past Friday when a co-worker of mine decide to show me a picture of myself that was taken a year and 2 months ago. I told her to delete it as it was not a flattering picture of myself. She told me "NO!.. You should be proud of how far you've come. ". I just shook my head at her and said, "Please delete that picture of me. " She walked away after that. As the day wore on I did however think about what she said. If she didn't take that picture I wouldn't know how far I've come. It has been a long battle. Not the easiest but the most rewarding by far. I've had co-workers come up to me and tell me that they didn't realize I was that big....but I look so good now. It makes me smiling knowing that I'm going in the right direction.
Can you believe that only a year ago I was Type 2 diabetic who took insulin 3 times a day plus took 2 diabetic pills a day? My A1C was at an 8. That was bad. Now I only take 3 lower dose diabetic pills twice a day. NO INSULIN and my A1C is at 6.7. Almost close to normal. Everyday is a battle but it's a battle I'll take in order to live life and enjoy it more with my family.
Now to keep going is the hardest part. Time to get back into a normal routine of exercising.
Have you had a wake up call lately that made you proud of how far you've come?
Tell me about it. I'd love to hear it.
Have a great week!
