The summer heat is brutal this year. How many of you people know what I'm taking about? Living in Illinois is tough during the summer. Not only does it get scorching HOT it gets freaking humid too. So what do you do about excercising while it's HOT out. 4 important things to remember while excercising outside.
1. Sunscreen is a must. It's important to protect your skin. You can get burned and suffer sun damage to your skin even on cloudy days. Use anything SPF 45 and up.
2. WATER! WATER! WATER! Stay hydrated. Before you go out, drink a glass or two of water. Carry a bottle of water. When you're done with your workout, have a few more glasses of water.
3. Wear loose, light-colored. The lighter color will help reflect heat, and cotton material will help the evaporation of sweat.
4. The time of day is important. Unless you are training for an event that takes place in the daytime heat, avoid exercising from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's the hottest part of day. Usually, the early morning is the best time to workout, especially if it's going to be HOT that day.
What are your summer plans? Can you believe it's July already. Have a great week everyone!

I can't believe it is July already! The summer is my favorite time to be outside and feel the suns rays on my skin, be more active, feel alive! I love it. However, this year it has been too hot for even me! LOL. I've been finding myself indoors trying to stay active.

ReplyDeleteThese are great tips! Might I also suggest a sweatband if you're using sunscreen on your face? Sweat + Sunscreen + Eyes = Ouch!
