"When the world says GIVE UP!
Hope whispers ....
TRY IT ONE MORE TIME. " ~ unknown

These past few weeks I feel like my life is so unbalanced. On top of working and going to school i feel like I am being pulled in so many directions that I feel like I'm going to scream. By the time the weekend rolls around all I want to do is relax on my couch and catch up on my zzz's. Anyone else feel this way? Am I the only one? How do you find balance in your life? I felt like I was balanced and doing well until I got my promotion. Instead of being on top of everything I feel like I've fallen behind 10 steps. I have no idea how to get back on top. I don't know where this negativity comes from lately. Ugh... So frustrated. I feel like having this new promotion at work is making me more stressed, crabby, and just plain tired. I will eventually have to find my balance sometime.

On a good note.. I did start the new work out Insanity! It was freaking awesome and I am loving it. I am also hurting from it but that's a good thing. I am hoping to keep it up to have at least one thing balanced on my plate.

How is everyone's summer going? I'm sorry I've been a little M.I.A. lately but work, school, kids, and hubby all consume my life lately. Once I get my balancing act together I will be more sociable. Thank you all for taking the time to read my post. Have a great week this week.

Summer Heat

"If you don't have confidence, you'll always find a way not to win."
- Carl Lewis

Weight loss this week - 1 lb.
Weight loss total - 37 lbs.

The summer heat is brutal this year. How many of you people know what I'm taking about? Living in Illinois is tough during the summer. Not only does it get scorching HOT it gets freaking humid too. So what do you do about excercising while it's HOT out. 4 important things to remember while excercising outside.

1. Sunscreen is a must.  It's important to protect your skin. You can get burned and suffer sun damage to your skin even on cloudy days. Use anything SPF 45 and up.

2. WATER! WATER! WATER!  Stay hydrated. Before you go out, drink a glass or two of water. Carry a bottle of water. When you're done with your workout, have a few more glasses of water.

3. Wear loose, light-colored. The lighter color will help reflect heat, and cotton material will help the evaporation of sweat.

4. The time of day is important. Unless you are training for an event that takes place in the daytime heat, avoid exercising from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's the hottest part of day. Usually, the early morning is the best time to workout, especially if it's going to be HOT that day.

What are your summer plans? Can you believe it's July already. Have a great week everyone!

Weight loss this week - 2.0 lbs
Weight loss total - 36 lbs

Happy Monday Everyone! I am back to reality. I have been on vacation and this past week has been playing catch up. While on vacation in Jamaica I only gained 1.5 lbs. :) I've already lost that weight and a little more this week. So I am back to my pre-vacation weight. woohoo!!! Totally thought i would gain lots of weight while away but I stayed on course. Ate three meals a day and had one small dessert at every meal. while I was on vacation.. They had a gym there to use but I didn't even step foot in it. But we did walk around alot in the resort so that makes up for it and lots of swimming. Well I hope everyone has a great week.

Goal to a smaller ME...

"Nothing will work unless you do."
- John Wooden

Weight loss this week - 3 lbs.
Weight loss total - 36 lbs.

Happy Monday everyone!!! Can you believe it's already June! I surely can't. This week will be a hectic week for me. We leave for Jamaica on Sunday!! Lots to do. This past weekend has been a good week for me. I lost 3 lbs. and have gone down 9 sizes since starting Mamavation. 9 freaking sizes. Can you believe it? I surely can't. We visited my in-laws this weekend and my new MIL asked if i was ready for vacation. My answer was NO. She asked if i had enough shorts for vacation and i replied i have a couple. She asked if i wanted to try some of her shorts. I asked her if they were size 7. Those were the size i could fit into. She said, "No.. there a size 5." I thought well i could try and if it doesn't fit at least i know. So off i went to try on some of her shorts. I put on the first pair and guess what! They fit. I was in total shock and had to rush and show her. A size 5 can you believe it!! I couldn't. Tried on another pair and those fit too. There were a few that fit but didn't felt comfortable. Different brands different size feelings. So i ended borrowing 3 shorts and a cute dress. Can't wait for Sunday to get here :)!!

Do you have something to look forward to this summer? Do you have a goal that you're trying to achieve? If so how are you doing. Hope everyone has a great week. See you all in 2 weeks with pictures to show.

The Swimsuit TEST

I'm back... Haven't blog since last week but I've been around listening but quiet. I hope everyone had a great weekend. This weekend was the weekend my family decided it was time to go swimsuit shopping. Before you know it our vacation time will be here. Kids were easy to shop for and so was my hubby. I on the other hand dreaded it. First I was slightly excited since I've lost a good 32 lbs. all together since being in this community. I've gained back a pound since last week. :( .. Back to my swimsuit shopping. I wanted to look for a one piece. Wasn't ready for a two piece yet. My abs are not were i want them to be. Though I have been working on them. I grab a size Medium. It said it was a size 8/9. I figured I would fit it. I'm a size 7/8. No sweat. I cried when I put them on. Not happy tears but upset tears. It didn't fit... I had to have my husband grab the next size up. A Large 10/11. It fit. I felt like I've gone back 2 steps. I was so upset. Though my husband kept assuring me that it was fine. I didn't feel fine. He says it's because I have big boobs.  I know I've made progress and I've gone down in sizes just shopping for swimsuit makes it depressing. Has anyone else have this problem or am the only one??

My next step is not dwelling on it too much and I'm going to keep exercising and keep doing my steps. Hopefully by the time I leave for vacation my swimsuit will be a little loose. Hope everyone has a great week!

Missed Steps...

"If you are going through hell, keep going.” ― Winston Churchill

Weight loss this week : 0 lbs.
Weight loss total: 33 lbs.

This past week has been a roller coaster. On top of school, work and every day life I feel like I've missed a step some where. I feel like I've lost my footing and I can't get to seem to get back on track. I feel like everytime I take a step I keep slipping. Just like the picture of the water falling on the steps. I can't seem to get my footing back to get back on top. And it just plain PISSES ME OFF!!

I have been sick this past week with strep so that completely through me off my workout schedule. Still recovering from it but I feel worn out. I've just finished my last day for my english class and in a week I will be doing another psychology class. Though I love psychology I feel a little overwhelmed with everything. I feel like I can't seem to catch my breath. Always on the go. Have you ever felt that way? Always on the go and can't seem to fit anything in? I need to get back on track on my workout schedule.

I did start off today on a good note. I did work out. I did my hip hop abs dvd and it felt good to workout .

I do have some good news. We've booked our Jamaica trip! So around this time next month I will be on a beach in Jamaica with the hubby and the kiddos. Guess it's one incentive to keep on going in getting back on track. Have to get bathing suit ready. :)

I haven't gain any weight this week or loss any. I've hit a plateau again.. Not losing any weight and not gaining is irritating all at the same time. I am glad that this monday's mamavation tv is about that interesting topic. I can't wait because I need some advice on getting off this plateau and get moving.

Congratulations to the new mamvation mom's!! I couldn't be at the twitter party due to having strep but I did hear about it later. Congratulation ladies!!  Wendy @Weightisover and Hanan (@LilacCityMomma) I can't waiting to see where this journey takes both of you.

So don't forget to join us for mamavation tv.  Monday night at 7pm PST/10pm EST on Mingle Media TV.

Family Time

"Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten. "
~ Lilo (Lilo & Stitch)

Weight loss this week - 0 lbs.
Weight loss total - 33 lbs.

These past few weeks has been very stressful. On top of school and a new promotion I sometimes get side track and neglect my family. My "Ohana". With that in mind my DH decided on the spur of the moment (sometimes those are the best) to spend some quality family time together. We brought the kids to the zoo. Though it was chilly out we still had a good time. It was nice to be able to relax with the kids and not have a worry in the world. To my surprise the kids got along well. Brother and sisters often fight. Everyone can agree with that. LOL... Have you neglected your family recently? If you have what are you going to do to make quality time together?

This week my goal is to get 3 workouts done. I succeeded last week with working out 4 times. More walking time during the week with my kids. Love this Chicago weather. Not hot and not cold. Just right with a little bit of breeze. Now if i could just hear the ocean waves crashing it would make me feel more at home. Hope everyone has a great week!!!

Good luck to all the ladies that applied to be a mamavation mom for this campaign. I'll be rooting for all of you! You all rock in my book!!
