It's Been Awhile..

" When I excercise I wear all black. It's like a funeral for my FAT. " - anonymous

Weight Loss this week - 1.6 lbs.
Weight loss total - 49 lbs

Hey everyone. I'm back. I'm been gone quite a while. Life is way too busy and I just haven't had the time to get back into exercising regularly. Though that is my goal this week. A little update on what has happened so far. I hit my goal last month! Yeah! (happy dance) I've still manage to keep it off and I even jog/walked a 5k with a friend. Though I won't lie I was sore the next day from all the uphills and downhills through out the course. I might've not stretch enough either. I plan on doing a 10k next month and another 5k in august. Hoping to be able to run in through without stopping. We'll see how it goes. I'll be happy if i get to finish and beat my time of 48 mins. I know.. not the best but oh well it was my first time doing it. How is everyone one else doing?

So this weeks goal is to get back on track in exercising and to manage my seasonal allergies that's kicking my butt at the moment. If you have allergies then you know how i feel. There are days i feel like death and look like it. Have a great week everyone.

HAPPY MONDAY!

120 lbs. Goal Accomplished! 03/30/13

120 lbs. Goal Reached!! 03/30/13

I have reached my goal. I started out at 168 lbs. and ended up at 120 lbs. healthy and happier in my life. Changing for the better has never been so good. Knowing that I started out only about a year and half ago and to see and meet the new me now is so amazing. I never thought that I would get this far. Through the support of mamavation and my family and friends I never could've gone this far.

If you keep thinking that you are never going to get there think again. You will accomplish it one day or another. Have faith you'll get there. Keep working hard and keep pushing your self.

Next goal: To keep going. Lose another 10 lbs in a year and live life healthy.

Hope everyone has a great week!

"Never give up and don't ask why because every situation does not need an answer. I'm a firm believer that I don't worry about anything I can't control."

Goodbye my sweet CHOCOLATE

Weight loss this week - 3lbs.
Weight loss total - 46 lbs.

"The Difference between possible
and impossible lies in the persons determination"
~ Tommy Losarda

This past week was the start of lent. I decided for lent that I would give up chocolate. If you truly know me I LOVE chocolate. I at least have (1) piece of chocolate a day. This past Wednesday was Ash Wednesday. The start of lent.

What is Lent? Lent is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday.  Lent comes from the Anglo Saxon word lencten, which means "spring."  The forty days represents the time Jesus spent in the wilderness, enduring the temptation of Satan and preparing to begin his ministry.
Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter. It is a time of self-examination and reflection.  In the early church, Lent was a time to prepare new converts for baptism.  Today, Catholics  focus on their relationship with God, often choosing to give up something or to volunteer and give of themselves for others.

So for 40 days I will be chocolate free. In the absence of chocolate I have replaced it with working out.  I have worked out and since starting it I have lost the 3 lbs that I gained last week. I am back down to only needing to lose 2 more lbs. till my goal wait. So I hope in 40 days I can say I lost more than 2 lbs. I hope everyone has a great week.

Overweight.. REALLY??

Weigh loss this week - 0 lbs.
Weight loss total - 43.0 lbs.

" Unless you puke, faint, or DIE - Keep Going! " ~ Unknown

I know I haven't posted in awhile and I do apologize. Life's been a bit hectic.

So I saw the doctor for a 3 month check up last week and I was all psyched to go see him and see what my outcome was. I was feeling pretty great knowing I lost more weight since I last saw him. He told me my cholesterol was good. My A1C was great. Overall it was a good chek up. He gave me my paperwork and told me he wanted to see me again in 3 months and to keep up the good work. I look through my paperwork when I got back to work and saw my BMI. It stated my BMI was 25.
If you look at the chart above that's "overweight" category. "OVERWEIGHT!!!" My confidence just plummeted. I couldn't believe I was still in the overweight category.

I sulked for a few hours. My DH reminded me that it's ok I'm still losing weight. Not to go by what the BMI says just to keep my head high and keep going. So I am. I am keeping it high.

Have a great week!

New Year.. New Me

" Think of how far you've come today
and how much farther you'll go tommorrow "
 ~ Anonymous

Weight loss this week - 3 lbs.
Weight loss totoal - 46 lbs.

It's a new year and a new me. Started the year off with one resolution. To reach my goal weight by the end of the year. That means only 2 lbs. left to go. I am closer to my goal than I was the day before yesterday.

With my new years resolution in mind also comes with a new me in mind. Chopped off my LONG hair and made it short. Though I am getting lots of compliments of my new do I am still getting use to the idea of it being short.

I want to say good luck to all the finalist that is applying to be the next mamavation mom. I support each and everyone of you in your journey to healthiness.

Nothing new to report this week except I'm only 2 lbs closer to my goal weight. Slowly but surely I will get there. How has your past week been going? Hope this week is better.

Have a great week :)

Making A Difference

"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Weight loss this week - 0 lbs.

Weight loss total - 43 lbs.

I had a huge wake up call this past Friday when a co-worker of mine decide to show me a picture of myself that was taken a year and 2 months ago. I told her to delete it as it was not a flattering picture of myself. She told me "NO!.. You should be proud of how far you've come. ". I just shook my head at her and said, "Please delete that picture of me. " She walked away after that. As the day wore on I did however think about what she said. If she didn't take that picture I wouldn't know how far I've come. It has been a long battle. Not the easiest but the most rewarding by far. I've had co-workers come up to me and tell me that they didn't realize I was that big....but I look so good now. It makes me smiling knowing that I'm going in the right direction.

Can you believe that only a year ago I was Type 2 diabetic who took insulin 3 times a day plus took 2 diabetic pills a day? My A1C was at an 8. That was bad. Now I only take 3 lower dose diabetic pills twice a day. NO INSULIN and my A1C is at 6.7. Almost close to normal. Everyday is a battle but it's a battle I'll take in order to live life and enjoy it more with my family.

Now to keep going is the hardest part. Time to get back into a normal routine of exercising.

Have you had a wake up call lately that made you proud of how far you've come?
Tell me about it. I'd love to hear it.

Have a great week!
